British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
