Chief Executive Approves Measure to Release Additional Jeffrey Epstein Files Following Months of Pushback

Donald Trump declared on late Wednesday that he had endorsed the measure resoundingly endorsed by American lawmakers that directs the Department of Justice to make public more documents regarding the deceased financier, the deceased sex offender.

The move comes after months of pushback from the chief executive and his political allies in the legislature that fractured his core constituency and caused divisions with various established backers.

Donald Trump had resisted disclosing the Epstein documents, labeling the issue a "false narrative" and railing against those who sought to release the files available, even though vowing their disclosure on the campaign trail.

However he changed direction in the last week after it was evident the House of Representatives would endorse the legislation. Donald Trump said: "Everything is transparent".

The specifics remain uncertain what the agency will disclose in response to the measure – the legislation outlines a variety of possible documents that must be released, but provides exceptions for some materials.

The President Endorses Legislation to Force Publication of More Epstein Files

The bill calls for the top justice official to make non-classified Epstein-connected documents publicly available "in an easily accessible digital format", covering every inquiry into Epstein, his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, flight logs and movement logs, persons mentioned or identified in connection with his illegal activities, institutions that were linked to his human trafficking or financial networks, protection agreements and other plea agreements, internal communications about prosecution choices, records of his confinement and death, and details about potential document destruction.

The agency will have thirty days to turn over the documents. The bill contains certain exemptions, such as deletions of personal details of victims or personal files, any descriptions of minor exploitation, disclosures that would jeopardize active investigations or prosecutions and descriptions of fatality or mistreatment.
