Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any damage is uncertain and the United States has yet to issue a statement.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have intercepted missiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.
It said missile fragments landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
