Just as the recent storm swept through the northern region the night before, the home side overwhelmed United away at the their home ground. It was a convincing three-nil triumph for their manager's side due to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a display that firmly established their championship potential as they reinforced their place at the WSL pinnacle.

Consecutive Setbacks for United

This result represented back-to-back league setbacks for the United manager's side for the first time since last May, leaving them a sizable gap off the league leaders with their trophy ambitions hanging by a thread.

The Red Devils' capacity to manage domestic and European football with a thin team has been a frequently analyzed topic since they secured entry to the UCL. Considering the schedule, it always felt like this was the matchday that would fully examine this capability. Unfortunately for the opposition, they appeared weary from start to finish, the memorable win against the French side clearly having taken a toll.
