In 2026, the next chapter is scheduled for release. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, offering a brief look into the storyline but keeping viewers curious how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.

In the teaser reveals the young girl — who received the toy collection when he grew up — getting a brand new toy, one that terrifies the familiar toy group. Bonnie acquires her first tablet computer, and she is excited about it.

Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will come to life just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the toys seem to view it as a threat coming to replace them, which it likely will.

The Cowboy's Comeback: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4

One thing the teaser doesn't touch on is why Woody is back with his companions in the child's bedroom. The end of Toy Story 4 depicted him embark on a new adventure with the shepherdess (the actress), journeying with a carnival and helping prize toys locate loving owners.

Surely, Pixar will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Witnessing him show up in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is a little strange, though. It also raises questions whether Bo Peep will have returned with him. And what about the stuntman toy (the star)?

Continuity from the Last Installment

At the very least, some aspects are continuing from the earlier movie. The last thing Woody did before setting off for his fresh path was pass his sheriff badge to the cowgirl (the voice actor), entrusting her as the leader of Bonnie's bedroom. The clip shows the badge pinned to her outfit.

Hopefully she is remains the driving force among the toys.
