This young athlete boasts substantial online following
Kai Trump can count on multiple prominent cheerleaders as she makes her professional golf debut this Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who is the granddaughter of Donald Trump, obtained a special exemption to compete at the Annika competition in Florida.
The former president, an avid golfer, owns several international courses and frequently matches against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we have tight competitions," she stated.
Kai explained that her grandfather, who won't be present, advised her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"My grandpa basically advised me to compete and enjoy myself," she added.
"From my perspective, he's just a regular grandfather. He's not attending for the tournament. He's occupied with presidential duties, making him somewhat preoccupied."
Being non-professional, the golfer has participated in a mere three competitions this year and maintains the 461st position in AJGA listings.
But she's able to seek guidance from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with her mother.
"He stands as the best player in the world," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's a superior human being. He advised me to compete, relax, adapting to the flow."
She'll challenge several top competitors in professional golf at the competition, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
Tournament organizers commented that her participation brings golf to different demographics, specifically with younger fans.
Kai maintains substantial online presence and just introduced her own apparel and wellness brand.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
